If you spend the night at camping farm De Oorsprong, you will sleep in the oldest farm on Schiermonnikoog! The farm was built in the 19th century and has been renovated many times over the years. In 1972 came the cubicle barn, which still today houses our cows. In 1994, the farm was completely renovated and the group accommodation was created.
We have always been careful to preserve the authentic character of the farm. That is why you will find references to the old barn in several places, including in the group accommodation. At De Oorsprong farm you can still taste a touch of nostalgia in a modern environment.

For the children, there is plenty to recommend at camping farm De Oorsprong. Like real farmers, they can help on the farm. On the large playing field and the courtyard there is enough space to play football, run and play to your heart's content. Schiermonnikoog is also an excellent place to explore the island by bike and to go on special excursions on the mud flats.
Accommodation with several flats and group rooms
The group accommodations consist of several flats. All flats are attractively furnished and feature a living room with smart TV (incl. Netflix) and a fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs you will find the bathrooms and bedrooms with bunk beds. Pillows and duvets are provided.
You can rent bed linen from us or bring your own. The use of sleeping bags is not allowed. Each flat has central heating and a private terrace.
Location of the camping farm
Camping Farm De Oorsprong is located at one of the most beautiful spots on Schiermonnikoog. You will find us on the quiet eastern side of the island, at the edge of one of the dune and salt marsh areas on the island.
The camping farm on Schiermonnikoog is close to the Wad, and just 2.5 kilometres away is the wide North Sea beach, the ideal base for exploring Schiermonnikoog.
